About your teacher
Here’s an introduction from Rebecca in her own words:
I grew up in Hampshire and learned flute and piano from an early age. After gaining my BA music degree from the University Of York, I went over to The Netherlands to study Classical Flute at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague. The Hague has a vibrant jazz scene and it was there I took an interest also in jazz music. I joined the Netherlands Flute Orchestra for their tour around Holland with the history of the tango. Upon returning to the UK, I studied for a PGCE in Primary Music at Exeter University and have 18 years teaching experience. I coach the flute section of the Cornwall Youth Wind Orchestra and work with Sax Is Our Business and The Genie Sax Ensemble. I enjoy playing in a variety of settings – orchestral concerts, theatrical shows, function band gigs, big band gigs and with the worship band at my church.
And if you’d like to hear Cornwall Youth Wind Orchestra in action, here’s a recording they made during a lockdown in 2020:
