We have a growing number of online courses available. Learning isn’t just about watching videos. It’s about getting the right ingredients – from an inspiring teacher, to learning the techniques that can let your unique musical voice emerge.
It’s also about sharing your journey, not just with your teacher, but as part of a supportive community. MusicEL gives opportunities to share your work and develop performance skills, take part in online bands and ensembles, and challenges and competitions to get you motivated. And if you’re aged 13 or over you’ll have access to our community forums.
It’s about becoming a musician, not just learning an instrument.

Why MusicEL is unique
Set up by the county music service Cornwall Music Service Trust, we’re different from the many online lesson agencies.
Expertise
We have over 100 teachers who are top of their game (from conservatoire-trained professional performers, gigging musicians, music producers and DJs, to qualified school teachers). You can check out some of them here:
Community
Learning music online can often be a solitary exercise. But music is all about communication, and musicians form communities. MusicEL draws on the many decades of experience Cornwall Music Service has in creating the pathways young people can explore on their journey. And whether you’re young or old, you’ll benefit from this.
From first trying out a new instrument, to joining bands, choirs or orchestras, playing in gigs, there are many routes people take to find their musical identities. And of course, making new friends along the way! Its about so much more than just learning an instrument.
MusicEL is a community of teachers who know each other and often play music together too. So whether you’re playing for fun or aiming for a career in music, we can help you find the pathway and point you to the opportunities that will help you realise your potential.
